Feria brushed her long silver hair away from her eyes, and caught a glimpse of that creature that kept flying past her home. Feria was a genetically altered dog. Her silver hair was a side affect of the so-called mutation. She was a slave of the woman named Mentor. She lived on 24 South Walkin Way. There was a kind of a bird girl that kept flying past her house, and that was the one-of-a-kind creature, and she was sure the creature was not an angel, because it looked only slightly like a human. It made the most beautiful sound that Feria had ever heard. It seemed like it wanted her to follow it. She ran quickly as it flew, trying to guide her to something. All four of Feria's slender legs worked hard to keep up with it. The bird girl stopped to show Feria the barren landscape before which she stood. Feria gasped. Many of her kind beckoning to her, they were all huddled under a canopy of canvas with leaves strewn across the top of it. Feria walked forward about twelve feet.
"What's going on here?" Feria asked. She looked up to the sky and kneeled she howled long and mournfully, her long snout turned upwards. She heard something rustling behind her. She abruptly stopped howling and jerked her head around to see what had made that noise. The long rope of chains binding her hands together rattled annoyingly. A dark figure stepped out from the bush. It was Mentor brandishing a whip.
"You, dog, stand!" Mentor cracked the whip, and Feria jumped to her feet. "You either stop the rebellion, or I'll have to punish you severely!" Feria snarled at Mentor. The woman brought out the whip again. "Back! Get Down!" Feria barked in angry dog language. Mentor whipped Feria's shoulder. You shall not speak in dog! It is against the new law!" Feria gaped at Mentor.
"New law? I wasn't told about a new law!" Mentor sneered at Feria alleged foolishness, when Mentor herself was really the fool. "Mentor, I'm not named or known by Dog, other than by you, and I'm not just an animal, I have feelings."
Mentor whipped Feria repetitively across the legs. "You Idiot! Dogs are meant to be servants to us rulers! You cannot escape it!" Feria yipped in pain every time the whip hit her leg, and Mentor simply smiled more and more maliciously. "You are a no one, and nobody, a no-face! Face it! You are a piece of property!"
Feria yanked herself away, and then positioned herself so that her handcuffs were in the way of the whip. The tip of it wrapped around the chain, and Feria was able to rip the whip away from Mentor's hand. "You forgot one thing when you humans genetically altered all dogs Mentor!" Feria threw the whip to the Bird Girl. "We're just as smart as you are!" Feria ran to the other dogs under the canopy. "Follow me! We are free!" she barked. She started running towards the city limits, and all of the other dogs followed her. All but one. That one was I. I had been chained to the ground, and I could not run. Feria, being the hero that she was saved me, and we ran away from that town forever. Our group of dogs went to every town in the world, and liberated every dog in existence, and the ones to be born. We formed out own civilization, and we sent the humans a message that said that unless they started to treat us as equals, we were not returning. It was not until twelve years later that the dogs a nd humans settled their differences. So, treat your dogs well, and make sure you treat them as part of your family.
