Fear

Fear

Anna

Fear
Slithering, sliding, in the night
Creeping, crawling, out of sight
Like a shadow, fear swoops down
And catches you by surprise
It lurks in corners, dark and damp
It can take on familiar forms
Fear clings to you no matter what
And clouds your vision, thoughts, and dreams
It sends shivers down your spine
Makes your skin squirm
It cannot be stopped
Not until dawn
When the sun filters in
And the fear
Crawls away
