Maureen Early, an English teacher at Ponderosa High School, published "Reciprocal Reading Recommendations." in English Journal (May2004), p. 20.
Tina Humphrey, 2001 fellow and Cresthill Middle School teacher, published In the First Few Years: Reflections of a Beginning Teacher (International Reading Association, December 2002). Tina also presented her workshop, "In the First Few Years: A Workshop for Beginning Teachers," at the Colorado Language Arts Society Spring Conference in March and the International Reading Association Annual Convention in Orlando in May. Tina also published "A Writer Surrounded by Other Writers." in The Voice 9 (2), p.10.
Dawn Kral-Kueter, 2001 fellow, had her memoir, "Saturday Is Dump Day," published online. Dawn teaches at Northglenn High School.
Mike Montgomery published "Authentic Science Writing." in Principal Leadership (Feb
2005), pp. 28-31. Mike is the assistant principal of Littleton High School.
Mark Overmeyer published the book When Writing Workshop Isn't Working. (Stenhouse, 2005). Mark is the literacy coordinator for Homestead Elementary School.
Sidra Smith, 2003 fellow, received a Colorado Teacher Recognition Award from the Anti-Defamation League. Sidra teaches at Kent Denver School in Englewood.
Molly Toussant, a 5th grade teacher at Willow Creek Elementary School, published "Taking Charge." in The Voice 10 (1), p. 20.
Rick VanDeWeghe, Director, became writer and editor of the column, "Research Matters," for the English Journal starting fall 2003. Rick had "Teaching Writing as Story" published in the Journal of Teaching Writing 19 (1-2). Additionally, he published "Strengthening Partnerships Between Sites and Universities:
Tips from Site Directors," coauthored, in The Voice 10 (2), pp. 6-8.
Lee Waldman, Co-Director and Creighton Middle School teacher, presented a workshop entitled "The Boston Massacre-A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" at the Spring 2003 Colorado Language Arts Conference. Lee also published "Don't Bother to Knock" in the fall 2003 issue of Weekly Reader and "Reading to Write: Exploring the Connection to the Writer's Craft in a Content Area Classroom" in the spring 2003 issue of Colorado Reading Council Journal 14.
